What to know before you shop the spring fashions

Spring has a way of pulling people back into stores. New (BRIGHTER) colors, lighter fabrics, fresh silhouettes- it feels like the natural moment to “refresh” your wardrobe. The mistake many women make is starting that process without any real foundation. Shopping for spring without knowing what actually works for you often leads to the same outcomes: impulse buys, wasted money, and a closet full of pieces that don’t quite come together.

Here are my tips for what to do before you shop this spring:

Before you shop, arguably the most important thing to know is your best colors. Spring collections are filled with color, but not every color works on every person. When you know your undertone and seasonal palette, you stop guessing. You can immediately see which shades make you look vibrant and which ones drain you- no fitting room spiral required. Color knowledge turns spring trends into choices, not pressure.

Equally important is understanding your silhouettes, face shape, and style personality. Spring clothing tends to be more revealing in shape and structure than winter layers, which makes fit and proportion even more noticeable. Knowing which cuts flatter your body, which necklines and accessories balance your features, and what overall style direction feels authentic prevents you from buying pieces that look good on the hanger but never feel right once you get them home.

Spring shopping should feel intentional, not reactive.

BONUS TIP:

Go through your own closet first. Review your spring wardrobe. Make a list of what you need and bring it shopping with you. Stick to the list.

When you know your color + style foundations, you shop less, but better. Getting dressed becomes easier, outfits come together naturally, and your wardrobe starts supporting your life instead of competing for your attention. Before you shop for spring, know yourself first. Everything else falls into place from there. And if you need some help figuring it all out, you know where to find me.
